Derek Caine, the founder and father of the family business Simmons Mattress Gallery in Halifax and Dartmouth, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004. Part of his new view of life he found the healing power of music and he is using this healing to put back into the community.  The Little Derek Leukemia Fund with the help of sponsors, including Mattress World, have been successful in raising funds to help leukemia patients through events and the sales of 3 CDs he has recorded.
